Ranina Ranina - Curacha
Curacha, also known as Spanner Crab or "red frog crab” (Ranina ranina), is a local Chavacano name given to Ranina ranina, commonly found in the waters of Sulu province and Zamboanga and Bataan province. It is a large crab with a red color, which stays the same in color even when cooked.

Flavor
- Has a light delicate flavor, with most of its meat found in its body

Cooking
- Commonly boiled or steamed for about 12 minutes
- Best eaten with a sauce made with coconut milk, ginger, chili, and other spices to complement the crab flavor
- Picked meat is also ideal for stir-fries, salad, sandwiches, and as an addition to pasta and risotto
